Digital X-Rays & Ultrasounds
Managing your pet’s wellness through state-of-the-art digital technology
In certain cases, having our doctors perform a physical examination and running lab work doesn’t always provide the answers we need. To allow us to fully evaluate what’s going on inside your pet’s body, we provide advanced imaging services for our patients. Imaging makes it possible for us to analyze your pet’s internal organs and bones, so we can then properly diagnose illnesses and identify injuries. Our practice uses digital imaging so our veterinarians can analyze images in real-time.
X-rays are one of the most essential diagnostic tools that help us evaluate internal organs and bones. We can compare shapes and sizes of organs inside your pet’s body, as well as examine your companion’s abdomen, lungs, heart, teeth and bones. As our imaging is done in-house, the results are available instantly to aid in quick, accurate diagnosis. We’re also able to monitor and diagnose surgical and medical conditions like stomach and intestinal foreign bodies, bladder stones, arthritis, broken bones and tumors.
Digital x-rays are far superior than the conventional film x-rays, as we don’t need as many x-rays to collect high quality films. This means less radiation exposure and stress for your pet. Digital imaging is by far safer for not just your pet, but also our staff and the environment!
Commonly used with x-rays, ultrasounds are another vital part of diagnostic tools. Ultrasounds allow us to see internal organs formation and density. We can detect irregularities that can’t be made known through just a physical examination. They are an invaluable for making decisions for many treatments for your pet. It’s a relatively quick, routine procedure that doesn’t require anesthesia.
